Thank you very much to the Danielson B.P.OE. #1706 for the $1,000 donation made to the Brooklyn Middle School!
We are very grateful to the Danielson Elks! Your support of our community, school and students is very generous and appreciated! Principal Heather Tamsin and Assistant Principal Josh Torchia graciously accepted the donation with Librarian Mrs. Reading and students Wyatt Reed, Madison LaValle, Elizabeth Ladzinski, and Frank Iannucci. We were proud to have Elks Lenore Auger, Exalted Ruler and Mike Wimmer, Leading Knight, from Danielson B.P.OE. #1706 present the donation!
There are so many generous people who support education! Thank you Elks!
Thank you to Verizon from Groton for the donation of tablets to Brooklyn Elementary School!
Ms. Violette said: "The students LOVE them! We have been using them during math centers to reiterate addition and subtraction skills; in reading, students are able to partner read and private read in workshop using a free program called Epic which allows me to create student and classroom book collections/libraries for the students to choose books from at their own individual levels. During our center time at the end of the day students are able to play different games based on their individual needs. Currently many of the students are working on blending 3 letters to read a word. Overall, the short time we have had them has been very successful and exciting!"
