Hi All:

We conducted two assemblies this week. At yesterday's assembly we recognized our honor roll students, Lions Club Award winners, we received our award from The Last Green Valley for collecting over 66,000 plastic
shopping bags, and we officially began our Relay for Life donation process. Today's assembly was an instructional demonstration by Joan Gray from King Arthur Flour, who demonstrated to our students and our staff, the Life Skills Bread Baking Program. Students were given a complete bread baking kit, which can be used to bake two loaves of bread - one to eat with the family and one to bring to school to donate to a local food pantry. We
hope that students will bring the freshly baked bread to school tomorrow. However, if the baking cannot take place until the weekend, students may bring the bread in on Monday.

The Book Fair closes at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow.

BMS students placed first, second, and third last week's chess tournament.

Our spring sports teams are off to a good start: Girl's softball is undefeated, the baseball team has a winning record and the track team had a very competitive first meet last week (the girls track team won easily, while the boys team lost by a mere point).

Honors night is Wednesday, May 21st.
