Principal's Message
Dear Friends of Brooklyn Elementary School, Welcome to our web site. Our staff and administration encourages you to visit us for a tour or other matters of interest - we ask, only, that you call in advance for an appointment to be sure that someone will be available to meet with you. As time permits, we are available to share with you information about our program and other matters that are of interest to you, including our school's policies and practices. Parents/guardians are encouraged to meet with classroom and special teachers, as well as the administration, concerning your children. We recognize that a partnership of the home and the school, for the benefit of the children, is an important aid to student success. We encourage all parents/guardians to share in this partnership. We encourage all citizens to partner with our school to help assure the continued high quality of public education in our town. Our elementary school consists of two separate buildings joined by a short open walkway. The smaller building houses our pre-kindergarten program. The main building contains all grades from kindergarten through grade four. Our staff consists of certificated classroom and special teachers from pre-school through grade four; approved paraprofessional aides; and such support staff members as registered nurses and custodial/maintenance persons, food service personnel, clerical services, and administrators. Our extensive volunteer program includes interested citizens of the community who share their time and talent with the school to provide invaluable support and broad background knowledge to our children. Brooklyn is a good town in which to raise children; its schools have demonstrated through student performance, a high quality of education, and its citizens have shown abiding interest in its well-being. We are proud of our school - we hope you are, too! Sincerely your, Peggy Muscente |
