You have reported to the raptor center early in the morning to find a message from the director.  ÒYou need to take care of hoot today.  please feed her.  her food can be found in the refrigerator.  remember, she is an owl in captivity. So, you need to feed her the right food!Ó  you open the refrigerator to find it full with all kinds of different things.  ÒWhat do I feed her?Ó, you think to yourself.

ÒHoot is doing very well under your care.  We are so glad your joined our scientific crew here at the raptor center.  We are going to be releasing her back into the wild very soon.  It is time to get ready for that day.  Here is your next assignment to be completed today.

As you enter the raptor center you notice there is lots of activity going on: people rushing here and there.  You see the director off in the distance and quickly head over to him to find out what is going on.  He explains that today is HootÕs release day.  ÒYour just in time.  We need your help.  Are you ready?  LetÕs go!Ó You follow the director to his office and he hands you a worksheet detailing HootÕs release.  It says that Hoot is going to be released into an old growth forest in  California.  ÒWhat is an old growth forest?Ó you wonder.
