The statue of Israel Putnam is in Brooklyn, Connecticut. Putnam was born on January 7, 1718. The statue is near the post office and across the street from the Brooklyn Library. It is on Route 169 near the center of town, also across from the Lapsley property. It's a statue of Israel Putnam on a horse. It was dedicated on June 14, 1888, with honor and glory. The statue is a fitting tribute to Israel Putnam.

Israel Putnam was a major general and rose to Second in Command of the Continental Army. He was known for his great courage in all things. The statue is a bronze statue. There used to be two wolf heads attached at either end of the monument, but the wolf heads were stolen. Israel Putnam died on May 19, 1790.
