I arrived safely in Connecticut! We are having so
much fun together. We've done so many things together. I helped
the class with fractions during math time. The children didn't know
that I was that good at fractions! One thing that I really enjoyed
was watching a snowflake slideshow with the class. We were watching
the slideshow because we had read a book called Snowflake Bentley.
Have you read that book before? You can visit the web site at www.snowflakebentley.com.
I am really surprising them! I did reading groups
with the students. I helped the class with daily oral language,
their unfinished work, spelling, journal and even did centers. The
girls and boys think I had the most fun with our seed lesson. They
are right! I was helping them disect seeds in class. The class also
planted seeds so we can learn how seeds grow. We talked about words
like germinate and botonist. Did you know that a coconut is a giant
seed that floats?
Morning meeting is something I really enjoyed. This is when we play
games, read the morning message, share and talk about what is going
to happen during the day. Indoor recess is something cool that makes
me happy. Creating and decorating crowns was something else that
I liked. The children want to know if I am always this much fun?
What do you thing?
Love,
Dewi
P.S. Hope you write back. Our friend Brooke is on the way.
