Brooklyn Fairgrounds

Since 1820 meetings of the agricultural society were held in Brooklyn. This all led to the beginning of the Brooklyn fair, the oldest continuous fair in the U.S.A. The fair was first held on the Village Green. Then in 1857 the society acquired the present fairground. The fair ground is 149 years old. When the fair is going on, there are tractor pulls, horse riding, donkey shows, cow shows, and poultry shows. There are also working steers, and pony pulls. They have a parade and you take an animal in it. The fair is on Fairgrounds Road. The fair happens in late August. The fair started in 1849.
