Technology –
Computer Education Continuing advances in computer technology
are bringing about many changes within our society that have an
increasing impact on the way we obtain, process, evaluate and
use information. Students at The Brooklyn School should receive
the benefits available through computer education that will assist
them accomplishing the education goals of this system. Therefore,
the school is committed to:
- Providing appropriate instruction
in computer literacy and computer-assisted instruction through
the establishment and use of computers in each school as funds
permit;
- Providing instructional personnel
with appropriate in-service in computer literacy;
- Developing instructional objectives
for students participating in computer literacy and computer-assisted
instruction that will assist them in reaching educational goals
approved by the Board.
The Board, through its long range plan for technology, will provide:
- Technology that will allow
schools to connect to all facets of the community - home, library,
government, and business.
- Teachers, administrators and
students who are competently trained in using state-of-the-art
technology as a vehicle for learning.
- Technology that will bring
the outside world into the classroom.
- Equitable access for all to
the skills necessary for future success.
- Technology that will facilitate
a variety of approaches to learning.
- Technology that will prepare
students for higher education and future careers.
