Brooklyn Middle School Wins Grant to Disseminate Information About Substance Abuse
United Services recently awarded Brooklyn Middle School a thousand dollar grant to create a link to the distsrict web site that will provide information for families on this important topic.
The goal of this grant is to reach beyond the classrooms with a message of alcohol and drug abuse prevention. The creation of a link for the school web site is a strategy to provide knowledge and awareness of available prevention and treatment programs and services, and focus on changing the behaviors related to alcohol and other drugs.
The Middle School Improvemet Team (faculty and administration) will have the responsibility of oversight of this project and will develop, in conjunction with our health education staff members and social workers, an assessment of the value of this method of information dissemination.
The Brooklyn School wishes to thank United Services for their generous contribution to this project which will be a valuable resource to all our families.
